Description
“Way She Goes II” is one of those boats that virtually never hit the market. With only a handful of custom Cooper Maple Leaf 45s ever completed, this particular Canadian-built cruising yacht has the kind of safety, space, capability, and offshore comfort that’s hard to find without spending double this price.
Owned and sailed by a young family of four, they completed a massive refit and spent their cruising time on the Pacific coast of Mexico and Central America. The plan was to keep going, but changing family and work commitments now puts this incredible boat on the market.
These owners are offering up a boat that is solid, sea-worthy, and ready to keep cruising. And unlike most cruising boats on the market… the important, expensive work is already done.

🛥️ Why this design matters
The Cooper Maple Leaf 45 is known for:
* Strong Canadian construction
* Comfortable offshore motion
* Massive interior volume
* Safe center cockpit layout
* Excellent cruising practicality
And this particular boat is even rarer because the hull was laid up in 1988, when boat-building for GRP was at its peak in quality, and then the vessel was professionally completed and launched in 2007.
At $135k, you’re buying:
* A rare custom cruising yacht
* With a complete modern systems & professional electrical refit
* Already cruising-proven
* Safe for families and long-term use
* Ready to leave again when bottom is finished
⸻
Vessel is currently being hauled out (May/2026) to sand down from the bottom to the waterline to bare glass and re-finish.
Deck is solid but is in want of re-painting for aesthetic reasons, which is straightforward to arrange in the local work yards.

// Accommodations
Entering the main cabin, the layout opens immediately to a spacious salon with a well-appointed galley to port, nav station to starboard, and main dining and seating area beyond. The C-shaped galley follows a practical, seagoing configuration with a gimballed propane range and an integrated refrigerator/freezer set into the counter, deep double stainless steel sink with spray nozzle, and folding leaf to extend counter space when desired. Storage is substantial throughout, with cabinetry above and below finished in cherry hardwood and matching veneers.
Forward of the galley, the saloon provides a large and functional dining area with a bench settee opposite to starboard, arranged to support both everyday use and extended time aboard. Behind the dining settee are recesses and additional cabinets for storage. The extra long bench settee is long enough to accommodate another person lying down, again with recessed spaces and cabinetry in behind. The white vinyl headliner contrasts beautifully with the warm cherry brightwork, creating a warm and inviting space. There are overhead handrails that also run the length of the salon for safety and stability underway.
Just aft of the saloon is the navigation station, positioned for easy access while underway. Connected to the nav station and continuing aft along the passageway to the Master aft stateroom is a dedicated workbench.
The Master aft stateroom is notably generous in its spaciousness, offering over 6 feet of standing headroom, a centerline queen berth, and a private head. The head is configured with a separate shower and a half tub, an uncommon feature in this class that adds comfort for longer stays onboard. Access to the engine room is also located off this cabin, allowing for straightforward maintenance access.
Forward of the main cabin, the V-berth provides a separate sleeping area for guests or family, along with its own private wet head. This division of spaces creates a clear separation between owner and guest accommodations, making the layout well-suited for cruising with multiple people aboard.
