Description

$29,000 USD New Orleans, USA

Luma is a Swedish designed and Danish built bluewater cruiser that has circumnavigated the globe in 2005-2009. In 2024 she sailed from her long time home in Norway to Martinique where I bought her and extensively cruised the Caribbean until ending up in New Orleans 2025. Currently in the water with a fresh bottom job, shes rigged and ready for another long voyage. Continuous upgrades and maintenance completed over the past few years. Currently USCG flagged. For sale to anyone interested.

Features:
* Keel-stepped mast
* Lead encapsulated keel (3.4t gives it over 50% ballast ratio)
* Half skeg rudder gives it strength but also balance and a rudder shaft sitting above the waterline for extra safety
* Solid fiberglass deck and hull that are glassed together, no core to rot and no deck joint to leak.
* Luma is an extremely dry boat, she is a well thought out design that keeps water off of any areas where things are bed to the deck. Gunnels are integral to the hull and the worst culprits of leaks, the dock cleats and stanchions are on hull where water cannot stand.
Her rounded beam and heavy ballast prevent the deck getting awash when upwind and in heavy weather.
* Beautiful woodwork and interior. L-shaped kitchen with extra countertop extension. Gas oven with two burners and oven installed in 2023. Refrigerator with a freezer compartment.
* Bukh DV36SME 36hp marine diesel (these are true marine engines most often found in lifeboats)
* 360L freshwater and 540L fuel (split between two tanks) with inspection hatch
* Insulated hull
* Spacious salon with an additional bench seat on the starboard side, doubling as a sleeping berth. Light leather sofa. Large table with 2 leaves.
* Double cabin in the bow and double bed plus a single bed in the aft cabin. Ample storage throughout the boat and hanging lockers with good lighting.
* 1 bathroom with toilet (40 L holding tank) and handheld shower with warm water
* Handheld shower in cockpit

Equipment List:
* 3 lithium batteries: LifePo4 12V 100 Ah, Bluetooth (July 2023)
* Victron Orion- Tr Smart 12/12-30A (360W) Isolated DC-DC charger (July 2023)
* Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50, charge controller (July 2023)
* Solar panel 450 Watt, mono (July 2023)
* Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/20, charge controller (2024)
* 4x solar panels 100 watt (2024) 2 are stored below deck and only get deployed when I need the extra power for running starlink all day at anchor.
* Victron Blue Smart IP22 30A battery charger with 3 channels (July 2023)
* Raymarine DST810 GEN 2 Bluetooth, tridata (depth, speed, temperature) (July 2023)
* Victron Inverter 375 W (2024)
* EPIRB (2023)
* CPT Autopilot (2025)
* VHF Standard Horizon gx2400 with integrated AIS receiver and Gps (2024)
*Airmar dst810 transducer (depth/speed/temp) (2023)
*Actisense nmea2000 to wifi gateway (2023)
* Starlink (Dec 2023) (12v conversion in 2024)
* KISS wind generator set up to work with lithium (also have enough spares to build a second one)
* Old but functional Radar
* Solar arch with dinghy davits (August 2023)
* Seago throwable buoy with light signal (June 2023)
* Gas stove with 2 burners (May 2023) runs off propane or butane and I have bottles and regulators for both.
* 6-person life raft (September 2023)
* Swim platform with ladder (August 2023)
* Tohatsu 9.8 outboard motor (2024) in my opinion the best outboard, the only 10hp motor that weighs under 60lbs, I can handle it myself and will plane with 3 people.
* 5 inflatable life jackets + 1 non-inflatable
* Cockpit canvas from 2018, the dodger is worn but the rest of the full cockpit enclosure is in excellent condition. Really nice in rainy or cold climates.
* Cockpit shower with hot and cold water
* Delta anchor 15 kilograms with 10 mm chain 75m (250ft). Extra Danforth anchor.
* Ample mooring lines and fenders.
* 3 new electric bilge pumps (2024)
* 2 manual bilge pumps
* Kiwi Prop 3-bladed folding propeller.
* Good condition 140% Genoa and mainsail.
* Almost unused storm trysail and storm jib
* Extra mainsail and 100% jib but both need repairs.
* Sea anchor drogue
* Twin track furler and twin jib poles for sweet downwind double head sail sailing.

Recent Maintenance:
* 2023 Hauled out in Norway and removed all old antifouling and primer and repainted. replacement of all through-hull fittings.
* 2024 Hauled out in Trinidad, got 2 coats of bottom paint, New rudder bushings, kiwi-prop was rebuilt, saildrive oil and seals were changed and new zincs installed.
Engine was serviced, all filters and fluids replaced, new impeller, new thermostat, new injectors, valves adjusted.
*2026 Hauled out in New Orleans, sanded and painted bottom the bottom, just launched in May. New boom, lots of upgrades and maintenance done to the running rigging, all reefing lines and halyards run into the cockpit. New engine starter, alternator belt, oil cooler pipe and oil.

I sailed Luma with as many as 6 people, but 4 was a great crew, plenty of room on board and 3 hour watches 2x a day. Once I got a solid autopilot (CPT is great) I sailed over 2000 miles solo and loved it.

Nmea2000 network and starlink connected through a 12v linksy router. Wifi network gives you depth, speed, gps, AIS (and data if starlink is on) onto whatever apps/device you want. I used navionics on a dedicated android tablet for the boat with my phone as a backup. Previous owners used an ipad. When I got her she had a relatively new 4 person pvc dinghy but after 2 years in the tropical sun it was toast. I can also knock some off the price if you don't want the outboard motor as they aren't available in the USA and I'd love to keep it. Tons of hardware and spares for nearly everything on board. Freediving fins, several snorkels and fishing gear included too.

Luma is well sorted and the only thing she needs is a captain and a dinghy.
