For Sale: 1975 Pearson 10m - Hull #103 – A Classic Cruiser with Bluewater Reliability
$16,500
Here’s your chance to own a 1975 Pearson 10m (Hull #103), a boat that’s built to last and ready for adventure. Hull #103 is a standout with the upgraded chainplates, a key improvement over earlier models. Whether you're looking to cruise the coast, head out for a weekend getaway, or take on a longer passage, this boat is solid, safe, and set up for a variety of sailing needs.
The Pearson 10m has earned a reputation for being tough and reliable, and it’s got the bluewater pedigree to prove it. Several of these boats have circumnavigated the globe, proving they can handle long ocean passages with ease. With its strong fiberglass hull, stable design, and spacious interior, it’s a dependable vessel for any sailor looking to head out beyond the horizon.
The boat is equipped with marine air conditioning and heating, so whether you’re in the tropics or cruising cooler waters, you’ll stay comfortable. It also comes with a windvane autopilot, though it’s not yet installed, which is perfect for those longer offshore trips. The Universal Diesel engine cranks easily and is running great. I would recommend servicing the engine before extensive use as she has only been run at the dock over the past couple of years. A oil change, fuel filter, and general inspection would be a good idea. The running rigging is several years old, but servicable for day sailing or costal cruising. Standing rigging is solid, but hasn't been tuned in the last 3 years, so performance would probably be gained with some love. The sails, are in serviceable condition, ready for casual cruising.
The hull and decks are in good shape, with solid, sturdy decks and a well-kept sole (interior floor) that feels solid beneath your feet. The gel coat shows a few minor blemishes—nothing unusual for a boat of this age—but it’s still in good condition overall. There’s cosmetic damage on the starboard rub rail from contacting the dock, it doesn’t leak or affect the boat’s performance, but could use repair. This boat is ready to sail locally, with all key systems functional. She just needs someone with the time to do the maintenance and keep her nice. The hull and bottom job are in good condition below the waterline and it is docked in brakish water so growth is minimal. I will dive and scrape the hull on schedule, in early December, or before delivery of the boat to it's new owner.
Looking to live aboard? This Pearson 10m has you covered with a composting head—a clean, eco-friendly solution that makes living aboard more comfortable and convenient. With its spacious interior, which comfortably sleeps up to six people, this boat is more than just a cruiser; it’s a great option if you’re looking for a weekend retreat or a full-time liveaboard lifestyle. It’s clean, well-organized, and ready for whatever adventures you’ve got in mind.
The Pearson 10m offers a great balance of comfort, reliability, and performance for both coastal cruising and offshore sailing. If you’re looking for a boat that’s built to go the distance, whether it’s across the bay or across the world, this one’s got the goods.
