1982 C&C 42 | Hog Heaven

Noank, Groton, CT, USA

Description

If you are ready to start your round the world cruise, bring your gear and food aboard and cast off the lines on this fully equipped, rugged blue-water cruise ready sloop, a New Zealand built, former racer, based on a C&C design, that has been round the world 1.5 times including round the horn.  While she shows her age, she is still as sturdy as the day she was launched.  It is a great boat for a couple or small family to start their cruising dream on.  While this boat may feel a little cozy for a 42’ boat, it has loads of storage space needed for extended cruising and comes fully equipped with all navigation, safety, self-steering, autopilot, dinghy, tools, manuals, rigging and sails needed for easy, successful cruising.  Its ease of handling is demonstrated by the current owner, in his late 60’s, doing extensive solo cruising from St Johns, NL to Bermuda and down to the Grenadines and Bahamas thru a few gales from its home port in Groton, CT.  The boat comes with an extensive inventory of spare equipment (available upon request), equipment parts and consumables plus redundant critical navigation equipment, and an extensive set of both owner & manufacturer generated user manuals for operating the vessel.  A softcopy of all available boat data will be provided on a usb memory stick.

Construction:  Rot-proofed, triple diagonal, cold molded hull of Kauri pine.  The deck is coated with beige Sanit-Tred LRB coating over ¾” marine plywood.  9500 lb lead fin keel. See the August 2011 (Number 221) issue of the Wooden Boat Magazine for the article on p60 titled:
The Kauri Legacy; New Zealands Enduring Classics and the Wood that built them by Bruce Stannard for the benefits of hull built with Kauri Pine.

Will send detailed list of specific equipment models & types to your email address.
