Description

Nirvana II

Nirvana is a 1994 Moody 44 commissioned in the US in 1996 in New England. She was lightly used and well maintained. Spending the winters on the hard and for the last few years in fresh water for half the season. She had only 1700 hours on the engine when I purchased the boat in 2018 and now has 2200 hours.  An extensive refit including a totally redesigned, modern Saloon as well as practical and esthetic modifications to the aft cabin were completed in 2022, The saloon sole was replaced with ¼ inch teak on ½ inch marine plywood coated with epoxy.   All the other work was done with solid teak by qualified and experienced craftsmen.  A new custom solar arch / dingy davits of 2 inch and 1-12 inch welded aluminum was installed and the original bimini and dodger were remove and replaced with a custom canvas enclosure on a solid 1-1/2 inch welded aluminum frame. The boat was refitted and renovated to sail the south Pacific. Nirvana is amazingly clean and well kept.  The boat was designed by Bill Dixon and built in the Moody factory in Plymouth, England to Lloyds of London stringent    standards for an Ocean 100A1 certification for hull, superstructure and safety. Moody yachts are quality built and well regarded for their sea worthiness, comfort and longevity.

Nirvana is a turn key yacht that’s ready to go. Presently located in Rio Dulce, Guatemala and has been cruising the western Caribbean, Bay islands for the last few years.  Rio Dulce is a convenient location for Marianas with travel lifts, surveyors and a good starting point for cruising the Caribbean.   The boat can also be delivered if I’m available at the time of purchase.
