1985 Nauticat 38 | Northern Light

Beautiful Nauticat 36 in very good condition. Launched by Siltala Yachts, Finland in 1985. Fully documented vessel. Recent haul out for topsides cleaning/buffing, bottom paint, and max-prop and shaft cleaning.

Nauticats are built to be strong and secure. Single skin GRP hull, molded decks and Pilot House – no filler of any kind. The traditional teak decks are laid over the fiberglass. Standing rigging is bonded into the decks and bulk heads for extra strength.

Nauticats are factory customized. This is the B plan. Northern Light has two heads, one forward of the salon and one in the aft cabin. She also has the Nauticat sailing hull design with a deeper cut-away forefoot keel for better windward performance. And when fully rigged she has a roller furling genoa, staysail, main, mizzen, and gennaker. That’s a lot of sail options. Pilot house (PH) has sunroof and 360 degrees of windows, custom upholstery, chart table, two stowaway tables, and comfortable seating. She has a Garmin chartplotter with AIS, Radar, Espar heating, Junker on-demand hot water, pressure sea-water on deck and galley, 160 gallons of diesel for large range cruising at 7 knots. Two fully operable helms with good visibility so one can steer inside in bad weather or outside in good weather. No compromise.

Navigation/ communication, windlass/chain, battery bank updated, and many spares added in 2019 for cruising to SE Alaska. Coast guard documented vessel. Engine professionally maintained (records available).
