1986 Irwin 52

Hollywood, FL, USA

Description

Irwin 52's are the perfect liveaboard...they are roomy inside and comfortable. They are heavy and ride the sea well, and they perform well. I own a marine services company here in Ft Lauderdale. We work on boats this size, so I have completed a lot... too much to list here. I've lived aboard this boat for 5 years, so it has to be in working order for me to live on it and to sail all those years. I love mainly at anchor, so the systems have to be ready for voyaging. I've rebuilt the engine and also updated the systems, including new B&G autopilot and charplotter and so much more. I have singlehanded this boat (on the outside) from Key West back to Ft Lauderdale.

I painted the hull sides with Awlgrip Pearl Gray (gorgeous) with Stars and Stripes blue stripes (total proper process of 3 coats primer and 3 coats topcoat) and soda blasted the bottom and made repairs and barrier coated it with SeaHawk Tuff Stuff epoxy and SeaHawk Biocop antifouling.

While I have done an incredible amount of work to this boat so that she is safe for me to sail and also live on, she does need more. Most of her needs now are cosmetic, with the exception of the forward area. It used to have 2 small staterooms and 2 small heads forward... they were so small and cramped I didn't like them. I knew the space would be better used with a large queen Vberth and a larger head with a big shower. I demoed and began creating one larger master/ensuite with a larger head too, but I haven't completed that area. Right now it is unfinished with a large queen berth and only a new marine toilet in the head.
The stern master is where I lived.

The boat had 3 of the old original air conditioners when I bought it, I have removed all of them and replaced with 2... one is a Marinairre 9BTU in the master and the other is a Mermaid 16 BTU.There is so much more, too much to list. If you are interested lets talk on the phone and I can tell you more.

I have an awesome JB Marine dinghy with 20hp Yamaha electric start motor (2019)that fits on the davits perfectly, but it is sold separately and NOT included in this sale.
